Introducing DataFace!

Introducing DataFace!

What is facial recognition technology? How its use by the police impact New Yorkers? What’s the line between public safety and privacy?

To investigate these questions, students from the Bronx School for Law, Government & Justice collaborated with CUP and Teaching Artist Hugo Rojas. Students interviewed key stakeholders working on the issue, surveyed members of their community, and created art to challenge and redesign the possibilities of facial recognition technology. The group teamed up with Designer Stephanie Winarto to create DataFace! an interactive website that explores the effects of facial recognition technology on New Yorkers, now and in the future.
